Truck dispatch fee & load calculator
Compare the cost of a load and the cost of dispatch using your own numbers. Built for U.S. owner-operators and fleet managers.
Example inputs are editable. The 5% and $250 figures are illustrations, not TruCore prices or current market averages. Your inputs stay in this browser and are not sent to us.
How the calculations work
Total miles = loaded miles + empty miles. Gross revenue per total mile = load revenue ÷ total miles. Dispatch fee = the agreed billing basis × fee percentage ÷ 100. Operating cost = your cost per mile × total miles.
The remainder subtracts the dispatch fee and your entered operating cost from load revenue. Break-even revenue divides operating cost by (1 − fee percentage ÷ 100), assuming the entire entered revenue is the fee basis. Actual agreements may exclude fuel surcharge or accessorials; use the correct billing basis and account for excluded revenue separately.
What the numbers cannot decide
Check appointment windows, available driver hours, equipment, payment risk, loading time, your home-time plan, and the position after delivery. A better number does not make an infeasible load bookable. This tool does not supply live load-board prices or recommend accepting a specific load.
Turn the comparison into a clear dispatch brief
Read the dispatch fee comparison guide, review deadhead planning, or explore truck dispatch support. A written quote should specify the fee basis, included tasks, coverage, and approval rules.
